With the primaries less than two weeks away (Feb. 5th), I’m still struggling with who to vote for and suspect others are too.  I’m interested in hearing a fresh perspective on some questions I’ve considered - I’ve tried to leave the following prompts open so people may discuss them just generally or in support of their candidate of choice:

What are the issues Millennials should be most interested in for election 2008?

Does technology affect Generation Y’s vote?  How or Why?

What qualities do millennials look for in presidential candidates, and why are those qualities important to us?

Why does Generation Y favor some candidates over others?

Does personal branding and image play a factor in who millennials vote for?  How or Why?

Does peer influence play a factor in who millennials vote for?  How or Why?

Do millennials have the numbers to make an impact this election season?

Here’s the experiment: I’m closing the comments section.  To share your response to some or all of these prompts, post a message on your own blog and I will add the link to this post in a “responses” section.  You could also respond to your own prompt about politics and I will create a new section for it with a link to your post.  Eventually, I’ll post my own thoughts as well to add to the conversation.

Let me know about your response by linking to this post or by emailing me (m at twentyset dot com) with a link to your post.

Edit: I had a question about if you don’t have a blog but still want to respond - Just register for Twenty Set and submit your post that way.  As long as it’s tasteful I would be happy to post it on this site.

For those who are wondering, I have two reasons for trying it this way.  The first is I have a full time job and don’t have time to moderate a comments section that could get messy or ugly.  The second is I think millennials should be able to discuss these types of questions online, as long as the discussions are tasteful and constructive.  We already censor our political views at work, social events, and even with our apathetic friends - we need an outlet.  Blogging should be our outlet, so let’s develop a community by sharing our thoughts on questions that matter to us.
